Hi
When I first set a schedule up for WD Backup to backup my desktop to an external ‘my Passport ultra’ drive, everything worked as expcted. A backup each day at 7pm, and the WD Backup icon showed on the Taskbar when my computer booted up.
After a while, I removed the WD Backup icon from my taskbar as I felt it to be unnecessary clutter, but from that point onwards the backup has failed to run to the schedule.
I have tried:
-
deleting the schedule and creating a new one
-
Uninstalling and re-installing the backup software (with the install process finding an update)
None of these has changed matters, and when my machine boots up I don’t see the WD Backup icon on the taskbar as expected; it only shows if I open WD backup.manually
In Task Manager, I see the following WD related processes:
-
WD Drive Service - running
-
WD Backup Snapshot - stopped
-
WD Backup Drive Helper - stopped
I’m assuming that the Drive Service is the one that should be monotoring the time and invoking the backup, but I can’t be sure.
I’m running on a Dell with Vista Ultimate.
Anyone have any ideas as to why the backup won’t work automatically?
