In MSC mode on my Sansa Clip Plus (which I love, easily my most favourite gadget!) I can go to a folder (i.e. artist/album/song) and start to play the song, then pause it and add in to the golist. Whilst that song is still paused I can navigate to any other song in that folder and add it to the golist, and so on, as many time as I wish. But, when I navigate to another folder (to continue to add to the golist) I then have to start to play/pause the song all over again. Is there a way to avoid that?
I simply wish to make an on the fly playlist, and the above method almost works perfectly, apart from when I want to add onto the golist from another folder.

Does anyone have any tips on how to add to the Golist?
I just read your post, and I think, if I understand you right, the answer lies in your wanting to make an on-the-fly GoList. The way it works, you have to make the GoList first, then play it. I don’t think you can add anything to it once it has started playing.
You don’t have to start playing a song to add it to the go list. Just browse to a song or an album, then hold down the center button to add it to the go list. You don’t need to pause the player while playing it to add it to the go list, just press and hold the center button.

Thanks for your reply. You’re exactly right, I wish to make a Golist on the fly.
Although I do not wish to add to it whilst it is playing, I want to make a Golist without playing any songs, but I am unsable to do so. I have to start to play a song first. And then I can add to the Golist, but only songs from that folder. Once I navigate to another folder I then have to start playing a song from that folder before I can add any of those songs.
If I try to hold the button down to add songs, before I do the above, the button had no effect.

I do have to start to play a song first before I can add it. Please see the post above this one for full explanation.

You can leave the player paused (or volume off). Technically, the song is still playing, but you don’t have to listen to a few seconds of each song that way.
I updated the firmware to see if this bug was fixed, but no, still seems to be the same, if you go to another folder to add a song to the Golist, you have to play it first.
Reading down this thread, I see you guys did figure it out: the GoList works differently in Folder mode. It was designed with ID3 tag navigation in mind.
You can navigate to the Songs level and add individual songs, on the fly, without interrupting the currently playing track. If you back up a level, to Albums, the press-and-hold function will add all songs in the selected album too.
Unfortunately though, if you have some songs which do not have perfect tags, this can be problematic with the Golist. I use folder view exclusively as I think it’s by far the most supreme option. But the Golist is faulty in folder view.
