Access to (native) internal disk drive of WD My Book (Studio) after "Upgrade"

I’m using a WD My Book Studio with 1TB drive and ran out of space.

So I dicided to change the internal disk drive from 1TB to 3TB - it worked very well and I can see all the 3TB of capacity.

Now I’m looking to have access to the built out 1TB drive.

I plugged this drive into a standard USB-case - but MAC OS won’t find any files.

Is there a special file format which is used by WD?

Does somebody know any converter program?

Hello,

This drives are hardware encrypted and if you take the internal drive out of the original case and put it on a 3rd party external enclosure the data will be unreadable. If you want to read the data you will have to put it back on the original case.

Do I have to use realy the SAME case or does it also work with “another” My Book case from WD?
