I have tried to format this drive many different ways, and the highest amount it will give me is 200MB. Is this a defective drive or is there something else that I can try? Using Windows 7, 64 bit, if that matters.
Return it to where you bought it, Something’s wrong.
This worked great for me:
Download SDFormatter from here, then install it, open the program and click format. It should fix any issues.
Hope that works for you! Have an awesome day. ![]()
An interesting app SDFormatter but there is nothing on their website or in their documentation that indicates it supports anything other than SD/SDHC memory cards. There is no reference to flash drives.
do a google search for hp disk storage format tool. it works on all devices and will restore the original capacity if possible.

Indeed. However, I used it for a 250 GB flash drive that was not SD at all, and it worked swell. It’s definitely worth a shot, in my humble opinion. ![]()
