Yeah, so I just got my Sansa Clip (really nice, btw) But I updated the firmware and now (to be honest I don’t know if it did this before) on longer songs (~10+ minutes) it will just randomly skip to the next song. I dunno if there’s anything I can to do about this or if it could be added to a list of bugs for a next firmware update, but… yeah. If it helps, all songs are in Ogg Vorbis.
Ok, so it’s not just on long songs.
Nor is it with the new firmware… (I had to revert to 02.1.16A)

Not at all, unless it’s a 4GB only thing…neither my 2GB Rev.1 or my 8GB Rev.2 skip like that. Hopefully someone else has an idea.
My only thought is that the tags could be bad. I dont know how it would cause this but I sould suggest checking your id3tags on the files. If you need a program to check google mp3tag.

Yeah… It’s pretty much unuseable right now.
Update: It always ‘skips’ at the same place in each song which makes me think it might be read errors from my hard drive when I uploaded the music.
Whats happening when it skipps? Could the song be getting louder, or softer?
It just all of a sudden changes to the next song, no volume change at all.
How do the songs play on the computer?
They play all the way through, but they ‘skip’ in a different sense every now and then. I really don’t know how else to explain that.
Oh, and I’m using MSC mode with Music/$Band/$Album/1 song.ogg type file structure.

I notised such kind problem in firmware 01.01.20 or later
There are some files when CLP starts to play and just switch off by itself.
Few times it just skiped that tracks
I think the problem is in music files. There is a little loss of data or this files are corepted

That’s what I was thinking.
Alright, even more info here. When it skips on the compy, it’ll skip a second or so and continue playing, but on the clip it’ll skip at the same spot in the song but go to the next song. I think I need a new hard drive and to re-load all my music (my stupid self deleted all the music off my rockbox’d ipod that was uploaded before the skipping started happening. ■■■■.). Luckily most is on CD’s I have or can easily get.
